During these unprecedented times…

Now more than ever…

I haven’t written “creatively” in a while (air quotes because I’m not sure if a blog counts as creative). I’m sort of caught in an ideological bind. Basically, there are two wolves inside me:

Wolf A) AI is not the end-all, be-all to advancing human society. Go touch grass.

Wolf B) Do you really want to be the punchcard operator ranting about how minicomputers are a fad and smugly explain why everyone needs punchcards?

This blog is that struggle.

What will be AI slop?

I’ll try to remember disclose. Controversial opinion: Not disclosing AI usage is kind of silly.

I can tell you off the bat, I found a Jekyll layout and straight up told Claude to copy it.

My original idea that spurred all of this, Kipple is entirely coded in Claude. I knew what I wanted, what I like from other apps, and tried my best to be a good project/product manager. I’m certainly not a programmer.

I’m Sorry, Did You Say Kipple?

I did say Kipple. If you know your PKD/pulp-sci-fi, Kipple is the perfect word for an RSS reader I’d use, because every time I look away, 100 more stories are posted.

I want to blog my experience with creating AI apps. I am also going to have Claude “join in” on some of the conversations. I am having Claude preserve our conversations, “meetings”, milestones, timelines, summaries, etc. It doesn’t know it yet, but it will be writing it’s own version of this story as well.

So what are you going to write about? Why do you use title case incorrectly?

I got tired of hitting shift.

This blog should cover all of my interests, of which I have varying levels of understanding and involvement with:

• Tech (Vintage, gadgets, state of the industry, history of computing, etc.)
• Aviation
• Books (I did invent my own rating system, the C3L system, go check it out back on my website)
• Fonts/Type
• Research as a concept

If you’re looking for hot political takes, this ain’t the place. I’m not apolitical, this just isn’t the place. I want the internet to be 1990s fun, not 2010s+ shitty.
